The Wonderful Gift of the Holy Spirit

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses..." Acts 1:8
If you know me or anything about me, you know that I love talking about the Holy Spirit.
The more I study God's Word, the more I am amazed by the incredible gift Jesus gave to every believer. We often speak about the Cross, the resurrection, and the promise of eternal life, as we should. But Jesus also promised that we would never have to walk this journey alone.
He gave us the Holy Spirit.
There is a tendency today to look everywhere for what only the Holy Spirit can provide.
We look for the next conference, the next book, the next podcast, the next trend.
While God certainly uses people to encourage and equip us, our greatest need has never changed. We need the Holy Spirit.
After His resurrection, Jesus did not tell His disciples to immediately go into the world.
He told them to wait for the promise of the Father. He knew they could never accomplish God's work through human ability alone. Neither can we.
The Holy Spirit is our Helper when we are weak.
He is our Counselor when we need wisdom.
He is our Comforter when our hearts are hurting.
He is our Teacher who leads us into truth.
He is our Guide who directs our steps.
He convicts us, transforms us, strengthens us, and empowers us to live lives that glorify Jesus Christ.
What an incredible privilege! The Spirit of the living God dwells within every believer. We are never abandoned, and we are never left to figure life out on our own. Praise the Lord!
Before you begin your day, pause and acknowledge the Holy Spirit. Invite Him to lead your thoughts, your words, your decisions, and your relationships. Listen for His voice, follow His leading, and trust His strength.
One of the greatest privileges of being a follower of Jesus is that we get to depend on the Holy Spirit every day. Just think what God can do through a believer who is completely surrendered to the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Lives are transformed. Chains are broken. The Gospel is proclaimed with boldness. Hearts are healed. And Jesus Christ is glorified.
And that's why I love talking about Him. The Holy Spirit always points us to Jesus, empowers us to fulfill God's calling, and reminds us that we never have to do life alone.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, lead me today. Teach me, strengthen me, comfort me, and help me to walk in obedience to Jesus Christ. May my life reflect Your presence and bring glory to God in all that I do. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Get planted. Find a Bible-teaching, Holy Spirit-filled church family that will pray for you, love you, disciple you, and walk alongside you. Pursue Jesus with your whole heart and watch Him transform your life.
